Property investment

One of the most crucial decisions in Property Investment is deciding where to invest. Many focus on areas they’re familiar with, others weigh up factors like house price growth and residential vacancy rates in making their decision. What broader property investment decisions should we look at?

Consider the example of Suncorp, the biggest office tenant in Queensland, and its recent decision to create a campus style headquarters at South Bank to house around 3,000 workers. Along with announcements from several other major companies, this means there are now over 11,000 office workers scheduled to relocate to the South Brisbane area in the near term.

From this perspective, the impacts on demand for rental properties become clear, showing that South Brisbane presents compelling opportunities for investors, the area is set to continue to experience robust demand from residential tenants with attractive future growth prospects as well.

As this example demonstrates, it takes analyses of other sectors to provide a more complete insight to the residential investment market. To be successful in Property Investment we need to take a broader perspective!
